Tip You might find it easier to work with the automatic document
feeder if you first remove the document feeder tray.
2. Lift the cover of the automatic document feeder, as shown in Figure 1.

3. Lift the lid on the HP All-in-One, as if you were loading an original on the
glass.
Figure 2 shows the lid open and the location of a notch (1) near the top right
edge of the lid backing (2).

4. Place one or two fingers in the notch, as shown in Figure 3.
Warning Do not pull the face plate all the way off yet. There is a
plastic catch on the far left inside of the face plate that helps secure
the face plate in place. If you pull the face plate straight off, you might
damage the plastic catch on the inside of the face plate.
