3.2 Function Blocks Operation Overview
Function blocks define software components or modules that perform a specific
function. Each function block has its own, pre-defined set of inputs and outputs.
The function blocks provided with the PTQ-PDPMV1 module contain the logic to
handle PROFIBUS acyclic mailbox messages and alarms. They transfer data
between the main output/input mailbox arrays and the corresponding slave
devices.
The PTQ-PDPMV1 module is ready to receive a mailbox message from the
processor when all function blocks have been called in the main program, which
is provided in the sample.
