2. Select IP Addr (press Lrn ) to enter IP address mode ( Figure 167 , right).
3. Select Panel Boot (press the Bank 3/7 ), then select Yes (press 7 ) to reset the
Control Panel ( Figure 165 ).

The Control Panel reset procedure using the EMEM area performs a con-
trolled shut-down of the panel software and then reboots the operating
system. This is the safest method of resetting the panel.
CAUTION The Reset button inside the Karrera Control Panel, located on the processor
board under the air guide, performs a hard reboot of that panel’s single board
computer (equivalent to turning the power switch off and on). The Reset
button does not properly shut-down the panel software, and should only be
used in the rare situation where the EMEM area Reset procedure is not oper-
ational.
Karrera Software Installation
Karrera systems are shipped with the current software version installed.
Updates to Karrera system software are available for download from the
Grass Valley website. Software installation tools are provided with each
update package.
Refer to the separate Karrera Release Notes for complete software installation
instructions.
Karrera Software Option Authorization
Introduction
Some Karrera system options have software components that can be
enabled via an authorization process, using authorization codes. Authori-
zation codes are also used for tracking maintenance contracts.
