4 – Maintenance
• The HPRXD torch body has an
internal open connection
between the shield cap and
ohmic contact wire on the back
of the torch.
• Check the continuity between the torch
shield (nozzle) and the ohmic contact
wire.
• The lifter interface board
(228580) has failed and must
be replaced.
• Contact Hypertherm Technical Service.
The nozzle is not
contacting the workpiece.
• Stall Force is set too low.
• Verify that the settings that affect the
motor and lifter are correct (gains for
speed and position, encoder counts,
slide length, current limit, and stall
force).
• Perform an IHS test. If the torch is not
reaching the workpiece, increase the
Stall Force setting by 1. Repeat the IHS
test after each setting change. If the
problem continues, contact Hypertherm
Technical Service.
• A mechanical bind is preventing
the torch from reaching the
workpiece.
• Monitor the lifter for smooth motion.
• Examine the lifter motion for
obstructions.
