Configuring Ports
The Ports menu page provides links for configuring port functionality, including advanced features such
as storm control and port mirroring, and for performing virtual port tests.
To display the page, click Switching > Ports in the tree view. The Ports menu page contains links to the
following features:
• Global Parameters
• Port Configuration
• Protected Port Configuration
• LAG Configuration
• Storm Control
Global Parameters
Use the Global Parameters to configure Flow Control. Flow Control allows traffic from one switch to be
throttled for a specified period of time, and is defined for switches that are directly connected. Flow
Control can only be set for ports configured as full-duplex mode of operation. Since ports set to auto
negotiate may not be added as LAG members, LAG member ports cannot have flow control configured
to auto.
Note: Flow Control is incompatible with head of line blocking prevention mode. The switch can operate in either
mode, but not at the same time.
To display the Global Parameters page, click Switching > Ports > Global Parameters in the tree view.

in the stack. The default value is enabled.
–

–
Disable — Restores the switch operation to head of line blocking prevention.
