If you are loading a file, click on Update GPS Memory after you
select the file name. The GPS 2000/2100 memory will be updated
with the names in the selected file.
Transferring
Logged Data from
the GPS 2000/2100
to a PC
There are three reasons to transfer data from the GPS 2000/2100 to a PC:

To make a map of logged data.
•
To save data for reloading into the GPS 2000/2100 at a later time.
•
To modify collected data.
To make maps with the data collected with the GPS 2000/2100 with
software currently available, the data must be in a .txt format. The Utilities
program will allow the user to download the information from the GPS
2000/2100 in three different formats or just one and convert the data to the
other two formats.
If the user will be transferring data back into the receiver at a later date the
GPS 2000/21000 internal format must be downloaded.
Follow these steps to transfer logged data from the GPS 2000/2100 to a PC:

Connect the GPS 2000/2100 to your PC following the steps in
Getting Started on page 4-2.

Click on the Memory button in the GPS 2000/2100 Utilities
window.
Result: The Memory Utils window appears.

Click on the Transfer to PC button.
Result: A dialog box appears for TRANSFER FORMAT.

The user now decides what format they would like to export.
If exporting to …
Then …
Make maps only,
Select AL2000 and click on
Start.
To reload into the GPS
2000/2100 later, use in future
mapping software, and
conversion to other formats,
Select INTERNAL and click on
Start
For reloading only,
Select HEXASCII and click on
Start.
