9. Align the new Pentium III Xeon processor with the processor socket.
Install the processor
, and rotate the ejector levers inward to fully
seat and lock the processor.
NOTE: Place thumbs on either side of the heat pipe to prevent touching it.

IMPORTANT: Do not push on the heat pipe when installing the Pentium II Xeon or
Pentium III Xeon processor.
IMPORTANT: Fully seat the processor by closing the latches simultaneously.
NOTE: If you have installed processors to a total of five or more, you must install Cache
Accelerator modules. See the next section, “Installing the Cache Accelerator.”
10. Replace the Processor and Memory Module into the chassis.
11. Turn on the server. If the system does not power up, open the top access
panel and verify that the system interlock LED indicators are normal.
See the section, “System Interconnect Status LED Indicators,” in
Chapter 7, “Server Power.”
12. Verify that the processor was installed correctly. Check the processor
frequency, cache size, and socket location by reviewing the POST
messages on the system console or processor information under the
System Information Menu of the IMD. See Chapter 9, “Integrated
Management Log.”
