Compaq Insight Manager
Compaq Insight Manager is a server management tool capable of in-depth
fault, configuration, and performance monitoring of hundreds of Compaq
servers from a single management console. System parameters that are
monitored describe the status of all key server components.
By being able to view the events that may occur in these components, you can
take immediate action. You can view and print the event list from within
Insight Manager by following the instructions below. You can also mark a
critical or caution event as repaired after the affected component has been
replaced. For example, a failed fan that has been replaced. By marking the
entry as repaired, you can lower the severity of the event.
Viewing the Event List
To view the event list:
1. From Compaq Insight Manager, select the appropriate server, then select
View Device Data.
2. The selected server is displayed with buttons around its perimeter.
3. Select Recovery.
4. Select Integrated Management Log.
NOTE: The list can only be viewed from the Recovery/Integrated Management Log
screen. To print the list, follow the instructions in “Printing the Event List.”
5. If a failed component has been replaced, select the event from the list,
then select Mark Repaired.
