Internal Battery
To remove the internal battery:
1. Shut down the operating system in an orderly manner as directed in your
operating system instructions.
2. Power down the server.
3. Open the top access panel.
4. Locate the battery on the I/O board behind slots 10 and 11.
5. Pull the battery out of the battery socket
.
CAUTION: Replace the lithium battery within 15 minutes of removal to avoid the
loss of BIOS settings. Once BIOS settings are lost, a reconfiguration is necessary
to restore them.

Reverse steps 1 through 4 to replace the battery .
CAUTION: Batteries, battery packs, and accumulators should not be
disposed of together with the general household waste. In order to
forward them to recycling or proper disposal, please use the public
collection system or return them to Compaq, your authorized Compaq
Partners, or their agents.
