Installing the Integrated Array Bypass
Use the Compaq ProLiant DL760 server Integrated Array Bypass kit to bypass
the Integrated Smart Array Controller (Ultra2 support) and use an optional
controller such as the Compaq 4200 Array Controller.
The Integrated Smart Array Controller is routed to the internal drives through
a daughter board, the Array Enabler Board, in the I/O module.
The Integrated Array Bypass kit allows you to replace the Array Enabler
Board with a connector and cable that you can connect to an optional
controller board such as the Compaq 4200 Array Controller.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the
internal system components to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: Back up your data any time you move drive arrays or change your
configuration.
To install the Integrated Array Bypass:
1. Shut down the operating system in an orderly manner as directed in your
operating system instructions.
2. Power down the server and disconnect the power cables.
3. Open the top access panel as shown in Chapter 3, “Server Access.”
