Creating a Physical Disk Space Report

The Physical Disk Space report displays physical disk space chunklets according to usage type.
Each usage type is shown in a different color on the same chart. The X-axis (category) represents
time, and the Y-axis (value) indicates the amount of disk space.

A table below the chart lists the following values:

Description

Column

The date and time usage information was collected. (Shown only for values over a time interval
chart type.)

Time

Chunklets allocated to logical disks and containing data that is currently accessible to the
system.

Normal Used OK

Chunklets allocated to logical disks and containing data but inaccessible because they are
failed.

Normal Used Fail

Chunklets currently initialized and available for use by logical disks.

Normal Avail Clean

Uninitialized Chunklets to be cleaned.

Normal Avail Dirty

Chunklets initialized but unallocated. These chunklets do not contain data and are failed.

Normal Avail Fail

Chunklets currently used for sparing and containing data that is accessible by the system.

Spare Used OK

Chunklets used for sparing but containing data that is currently inaccessible to the system
because they are failed.

Spare Used Fail

Chunklets initialized and available for use, but only as spares.

Spare Avail Clean

Uninitialized chunklets reserved for use as spares.

Spare Avail Dirty

Chunklets reserved as spares but unusable because they are failed.

Spare Avail Fail

For values at a specified time chart types, the table might also display the physical disk ID, cage
ID, cage size, magazine number, device number, device type, and disk speed (in thousands of
RPMs).

NOTE:

The Speed number does not represent a rotational speed for the drives without spinning

media (SSDs). It is meant as a rough estimation of the performance difference between the drive
and the other drives in the system. For FC and NL drives, the number corresponds to both a
performance measure and actual rotational speed. For an SSD drive, the number is to be treated
as relative performance benchmark that takes into account in I/O per second, bandwidth, and
the access time.
