NOTE:

For Remote Copy synchronizations, the Finish Time column for a resynchronization

task might not match the LastSync column in the showrcopy command output for the system
that contains the primary volumes.

This discrepancy results from the differences in the times recorded:

A task’s Finish Time is recorded by the task subsystem when the task is marked as
done.

The LastSync time is recorded when Remote Copy completes the synchronization.

These two times should be similar, but they could differ by up to a few seconds.

Viewing More Detail for a Synchronization Task

To view more details for a particular task, use the showtask -d option.

For example:

#

Id Type Name Status Phase Step -------Start_Time----- ------Finish_Time-------

71 remote_copy_sync vv.1 Done 0/0 0/0 Wed Mar 30 14:33:10 PST 2005 Wed Mar 30 14:33:53

PST 2005

Detailed status:

{Wed Mar 30 14:33:10 PST 2005} Startup adding full sync of volume vvnorm.5126.p.1 in group

periodic.1 to the synchronization list

{Wed Mar 30 14:33:10 PST 2005} Started full sync of volume vvnorm.5126.p.1 in group periodic.1

has started.

{Wed Mar 30 14:33:53 PST 2005} Completed sync of volume vvnorm.5126.p.1 in group periodic.1

Viewing Earlier Synchronization Tasks

To see tasks that started on or after a specific date and time, calculate the timespan between the
current hour and the hour for which you want to start seeing task data, and use the showtask
-t

option.

For example, to see all tasks started within the past week (the last 168 hours), issue:

showtask -t 168
