N-to-1 Configuration
An N-to-1 Remote Copy configuration is composed of multiple Remote Copy pairs. A maximum
of four primary storage systems use the same backup storage system.
NOTE:
Because the backup system participates in one Remote Copy pair for each primary system,
the backup system must have four or more controller nodes.
You can set up N-to-1 Remote Copy configurations in either of the following arrangements:
•
One bidirectional Remote Copy pair and multiple unidirectional pairs (one, two, or three
unidirectional Remote Copy pairs, depending on the number of primary systems)
•
All unidirectional configurations (one, two, three, or four unidirectional Remote Copy pairs,
depending on the number of primary systems)
NOTE:
In an N-to-1 Remote Copy configuration, only one link can be bidirectional.
illustrates an example N-to-1 configuration in which:
•
Bidirectional Remote Copy is maintained between Remote Copy pair System3 and System4.
•
Unidirectional Remote Copy is maintained between Remote Copy pairs System1 and System4
and Remote Copy pairs System2 and System4.
