Functions and commands
quartiles
Returns the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, and
maximum of the elements of a list or the columns of a matrix.
quartiles(Lst||Mtrx,[Lst])
Example:
quartiles([1,2,3,5,10,4])
gives
[[1.0],[2.0],[3.0],[5.0],[10.0]]
quorem
Returns the quotient and remainder of the Euclidean division
(by decreasing power) of two polynomials. The polynomials
can be expressed as vectors of their coefficients or in symbolic
form.
quorem((Vect or Poly),(Vect or Poly),[Var])
Example:
quorem([1,2,3,4],[-1,2])
gives
[poly1[-1,-4,-
11],poly1[26]]
QUOTE
Returns an expression unevaluated.
quote(Expr)
radical_axis
Returns the line which is the locus of points at which tangents
drawn to two circles have the same length.
radical_axis(Crcle,Crcle)
randexp
Returns a random real according to the exponential
distribution of parameter a>0.
randexp(Real(a))
Example:
randexp(1)
gives
1.17118631006
randperm
Returns a random permutation of [0,1,2,...,n–1].
randperm(Intg(n))
Example:
randperm(4)
gives
[2,1,3,0]
ratnormal
Rewrites an expression as an irreducible rational fraction.
ratnormal(Expr)
Example:
ratnormal((x^2-1)/(x^3-1))
gives
(x+1)/
(x^2+x+1)
