10BASE-T An implementation of the Ethernet IEEE standard on 24 gauge un-
shielded twisted-pair wiring, a baseband medium, at 10 megabits per
second.
802.3 Defined by the IEEE, these standards govern the use of the
CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection)
network access method used by Ethernet networks.
802.5 Defined by the IEEE, these standards govern the use of the Token
Ring network access method.
ALAP (AppleTalk
Link Access
Protocol) In an AppleTalk network, this link access- (or data link-layer)
protocol governs packet transmission on LocalTalk.
ANSI (American
National Standards
Institute) This is the principal group in the U.S. for determining standards.
ANSI represents the U.S. in the ISO.
AppleShare A network system implementing the AppleTalk protocol.
