Assigning input signals to recording
tracks

This section explains how to adjust the level of signals input

from the INPUT 1 - 6 jacks and the GUITAR/BASS INPUT

1 - 2 jacks, and how to send them to a track in the recorder

section.

1.

Make sure that the instrument or mic that you want

to record is connected to the INPUT 1 - 6 or the

GUITAR/BASS INPUT 1 - 2 jacks.

N

OTE

• When something is connected to both the GUITAR/BASS

1 jack on the front panel and INPUT 1 jack on the rear

panel, or the GUITAR/BASS 2 jack on the front panel and

INPUT 2 jack on the rear panel, the front panel jack has

priority.

• Among balanced and unbalanced connectors on the rear

panel, the unbalanced jack (phone jack marked UNBAL-

ANCE) has priority.

2.

Press the [ON/OFF] key of the input to which the

instrument or microphone is connected, so that

the key lights up.

The [ON/OFF] key serves to activate and deactivate an

input. While the key is lit, the input is active.

Normally, up to two keys can be activated simultaneously.

To activate two inputs, press both [ON/OFF] keys together.

H

INT

• If two inputs are already selected and another [ON/OFF]

key is pressed, the currently selected keys go out and the

last pressed key is active.

• Normally, only up to two tracks can be recorded

simultaneously. By activating the 6TR REC mode (

p.

47), the signal from six inputs can be recorded on six

tracks simultaneously.

3.

While playing your instrument, turn the INPUT

control for the input selected in step 2, to adjust

the input sensitivity.

Make adjustments so that the [PEAK] indicator flickers

slightly when you play your instrument at its loudest

volume.

4.

If you will be recording the sound through the

insert effect, press the [INPUT SOURCE] key in the

effect section and turn the dial to set the insert

position for the effect to IN.

With the default settings of a project, the insert effect is

inserted into the input mixer (IN), and a patch suitable for

guitar/bass recording is selected.

H

INT

• If you want to record without sending the sound through

the insert effect, press the [BYPASS] key in the effect

section to bypass the insert effect.

• The [ON/OFF] key illumination of inputs for which the insert

effect is selected changes from red to orange.
