This Quick Tour is comprised of the five steps listed below.

Carrying out these steps in sequence will help you to become

familiar with the use of the rhythm section and with the

entire process of recording tracks and completing a song.

Step 1: Creating a new project
Shows how to create a new project.

Step 2: Creating a rhythm song
Shows how to use the rhythm section to create a rhythm song

accompaniment.

Step 3: Recording the first track
Shows how to record the first track while listening to the

rhythm song.

Step 4: Overdubbing
Shows how to record (overdub) the track recorded in step 3

with a second and more tracks, while listening to the backing

of the rhythm section.

Step 5: Mixdown
Shows how to mix the rhythm section and recorded tracks

down to the master tracks, creating the finished song.

Step 1: Creating a new project

On the MRS-1266, song data are managed in units called

"projects". A project encompasses the following infor-

mation.

• All recorder section data

• All mixer section settings

• All rhythm section settings

• All internal effect settings

• Other information (scene, mark, MIDI, etc.)

Press the [PROJECT] key in the display section.

The menu for loading and copying projects appears.

Use the cursor left/right keys to bring up the

indication "PROJECT NEW" on the display.

This screen lets you create a new project.

project menu, refer to page 138.

Press the [ENTER] key.

The number and name for the project to be created appear on

the display.
