When you select an empty pattern and record it, the pattern

name “Patxxx” (where xxx is the pattern number) is automat-

ically assigned.

6.

When you have finished editing the name, press

the [EXIT] key.

The rhythm pattern name will be updated, and the unit

returns to the rhythm pattern edit menu.

7.

To return to the main screen, press the [EXIT] key

several times.

Erasing a rhythm pattern

This section explains how to erase all data from a specified

rhythm pattern, returning it to a blank state.

1.

From the main screen, press the [PATTERN] key so

that the key lights up.

The rhythm section goes into rhythm pattern mode, and the

[RHYTHM] key flashes.

2.

Press the [RHYTHM] key.

3.

Press the [DELETE/ERASE] key.

The indication “DELETE SURE?” appears on the display.

4.

Press the [ENTER] key to erase the rhythm pattern,

or press the [EXIT] key to cancel.

When you press the [ENTER] key, the contents of the

pattern will be erased, and the display returns to the rhythm

pattern selection screen, with the now empty rhythm pattern

as the selected pattern.

5.

To return to the main screen, press the [EXIT] key

several times.

Creating your own drum kit

If desired, you can create your own original drum kit by

assigning sounds with specific settings for volume, pitch,

panning, etc. to the pads and giving the kit a unique name. It

is also possible to copy an existing drum kit and edit only a

part of it. The drum kit can then be saved on the hard disk as

part of the project.

Changing the sound and settings for
each pad

You can specify the sound, volume, pitch, panning and other

parameters for each pad to create your very own drum kit.

1.

Press the [DRUM] key in the rhythm section with

the [RHYTHM] key lit, and then press the [KIT/

PROG] key.

The name of the drum kit selected for editing appears on the

display.

2.

Turn the dial to select the drum kit that you want to

edit (0 - 126), and press the [EDIT] key.

The menu for editing individual pad settings appears.

3.

If necessary, press the [BANK/OCTAVE] key and

use the dial to switch the pad bank.

4.

Use the cursor left/right keys to select an item to

set. The following items are available.

• INST (Instrument sound)

Lets you select one of the 199 built-in drum/percussion

sounds of the MRS-1266 to assign to a pad. The setting
