Introduction
LGK-3901, DSK-3901, and ISM-3901
The DSK uses the same backplane connector module as the LGK-3901 (although the part
number of the backplane module might be different.)
Internally, however, it is different.
Conceptual Model
Figure 2-6 shows the DSK-3901’s conceptual model in the iMC master control system:
Fig. 2-6: Conceptual Model of the DSK-3901
Each video processing path includes 2 downstream keyers (DSKs). The preview output and
inputs, as they are called in Imagestore 750 terminology, are called the preset output and inputs
at the control panels. An A/B mixer combines preset video and program video according to the
selected transition type and rate, and according to configured transition modes.
The configuration tool allows you a nearly infinite number of ways to connect audio compo-
nents. Only a few of those ways (similar to what is shown in Figure 2-6) are useful in the master
control system.
After audio is disembedded, the audio processing path includes an A/B mixer and two voice-
over processors. Audio is re-embedded in program and preview audio after processing. (See the
detailed model, next page.) Voice-overs are either stored EasyPlay clips or from external AES
input.
The DSK-3901 does not have internal storage. It cannot store keys of any kind and it cannot store
audio clips.
