MCPM
Master control processing module.
MCE
Master control engine.
Self key
A process in which a keyer uses the fill to generate its own key (mask).
Squeezeback
A transition function that shrinks the program image so that a new image (the background) is
revealed. Basic squeezeback has two forms: scaled and cropped.
S-shaping
Signal shaping is the process of smoothing signal levels (producing an “S” shaped curve) as with
key values, for example. (Other signals can undergo S-shaping.)
Vertigo XG
A single- or dual-channel HD/SD graphics processor.
XG clip,
XG media clip
A term used in this document to refer to one of the video and audio sequences stored in, and
played by, the Intuition XG processor. An XG clip is a programmed composition of video, static
and animated graphics, audio, and text (which can be derived from live data).
XG Dash-
board
Configuration tool for Intuition XG.
XMedia
A collection of configuration and creative software used with Intuition XG.
Xbuilder
“Template population” and “promo timeline control” software for Intuition XG.
XPlay
A “media event sequencer” used to configure the Intuition XG and to manage clips. Xplay must
be running on the Intuition XG processor for correct operation under master control.
Xstudio
“Template creation” software for Intuition XG.
