Configuring VCT
Overview
You can use the Virtual Cable Test (VCT) function to check the status of the cable connected to an Ethernet
port on the device. The result is returned in less than 5 seconds. The test covers whether short circuit or
open circuit occurs on the cable and the length of the faulty cable.
The optical interface of a Combo port does not support this feature.
A link in the up state goes down and then up automatically if you perform this operation on one of the
Ethernet interfaces forming the link.

When a cable is abnormal, the cable length displayed is the length between the current port
and the location where fault occurs.
{
The cable length detected can have an error of up to 5 meters.
