Accessing the controller engine from the
switching engine
The controller engine and the switching engine of the WX5540E use independent operating systems,
Web interfaces, and CLI. From the perspective of SNMP, they are different entities. To access each
other's Web interfaces, they must have each other's IP address.
To enable automatic toggling between their Web interfaces, H3C already specified the default
management IP address of the switching engine on the controller engine, and specified the default IP
address of the controller engine on the switching engine.
If you are using the default settings, you do not need to perform the task described in "
Specifying
management IP addresses at the CLI ." If you have changed their management IP addresses, you must
perform the task.
Specifying management IP addresses at the CLI
Step Command Remarks
1. Enter system view of the
controller engine.
system-view N/A
2. Specify the management IP
address of the switching
engine.
oap management-ip ip-address
slot 0
By default, the management IP
address of the switching engine is
192.168.0.101.
3. Return to user view. quit N/A
4. Log in to the switching engine
from the controller engine.
oap connect slot 0
To return to the controller engine's
CLI, press Ctrl+K.
5. Enter system view of the
switching engine.
system-view N/A
6. Specify the management IP
address of the controller
engine.
oap management-ip ip-address
slot 1
By default, the management IP
address of the controller engine is
192.168.0.100.
IMPORTANT:
After the configuration, make sure the switching engine and controller engine can reach each other.
