3.4.1.1.5 MODULATOR:SCRAMBLER
SCRAMBLER
ON
Displays the scrambler status, either On or Off.
3.4.1.1.6 MODULATOR:DIFF.

Displays the differential encoder status, either On or Off.
3.4.1.1.7 MODULATOR:CARRIER

CARRIER MODE
NORMAL-MODULATED
Displays the carrier mode of operation as follows:
Normal-Modulated
The carrier mode in normally in this Off position.
Center-CW
Generates a carrier at the current modulator frequency. This can be used to
measure the output frequency.
Offset-CW
Generates a single, upper, side-band-suppressed carrier signal. The upper side-
band is at one-quarter of the symbol rate from the carrier. When inverted
spectrum is selected, this generates a single, lower, side-band-suppressed
carrier.
Dual-CW
Generates a dual side-band suppressed carrier signal. Side-bands are at one-half
of the symbol rate from the carrier. This is used to check the channel balance and
carrier null.
Upon entry, the current carrier mode is displayed with the flashing cursor on the first
character. Press [
↑ ] or [↓ ] to change the carrier mode. Press
change.
