Separate the drum unit from the developer assembly.
The following figure shows the drum unit and the
developer assembly:

Place the drum unit on a level surface. Cover the drum
unit with a clean cloth to protect the unit from exposure to
light.
Contacts

Use a cotton swab to clean the silver contacts in the
machine. Contacts are located inside the chassis in the
front, on the right, and in the rear. The following figure
shows how to clean the contacts:
