Safety Distances
The safety distance is the minimum allowable mounting distance between the GL-RHG and the hazard
point, which allows complete stoppage of hazardous motion before an individual reaches the hazard point.
The starting point (origin) for the safety distance must be the center line of the GL-RHG's surface. (See
below figure.)
The following safety distance calculations are for cases where the protective zone is perpendicular to the
direction of approach.
For all other cases, you must refer to the laws, rules, regulations or standards of the country in which the
GL-RHG is installed.
DANGER
The installation of the GL-RHG must ensure the required safety distance in compliance with
the requirements of laws, rules, regulations and standards of the country or region in which
the GL-RHG is installed.
Mounting the GL-RHG closer to the hazard point than the calculated safety distance can
result in serious bodily injury or death.
