This diagnosis step tests the functionality of the serial interface.
x Prepare instrument for diagnosis (see section 6.4.2).
x If necessary, press <Ð> several times until
diagnosis

x Insert the 3.496.8480 test plug into the RS232 interface without turn-
ing off the instrument.

The test runs automatically. If no error occurs, the following appears:
