Shooting with the Self-timer
When you use the self-timer, a shot will be taken automatically after a set
delay (10 seconds or 2 seconds).
1. From the recording menu (
p.34), select [SELF-TIMER].
Use the jog dial to select [SELF-TIMER] and then press the OK ( )
button.
2. Select the self-timer delay.
Use the jog dial to select the delay and then press the OK ( ) button.
OFF:
The self-timer is not used.
10 SEC.: Shooting begins or the picture is taken approximately
10 seconds after you press the REC
button or REC
button.
2 SEC.: Shooting begins or the picture is taken approximately
2 seconds after you press the REC
button or REC
button.
POINT
Using the [2 SEC.] self-timer delay is an effective way to avoid camera
shake when you are shooting still images.

In self-timer shooting, when you press the REC
button or REC
button, a timer on the screen starts counting down and the front LED
starts flashing. Once the selected delay (10 seconds or 2 seconds) has
elapsed, the camera starts shooting or takes the picture.
You can also use the self-timer for continuous recording (
Continuous recording shoots 3 images when the self-timer is used.
You can cancel self-timer shooting by moving the OK ( ) button down
while the countdown is displayed.
Setting the camera to auto mode turns the self-timer off, but you can
change this setting.
