Turning the Camera On and Off by Opening and Closing the
LCD Monitor
Use this procedure to link operation so that the camera turns on and off
when you open and close the LCD monitor.
1. From the setup menu (
p.36), select [LCD-LINKED POWER].
Use the jog dial to select [LCD-LINKED POWER] and then press the
OK ( ) button.
2. Select [ON].
Use the jog dial to select [ON] and then press the OK ( ) button.
ON: Opening and closing the LCD monitor turns the camera on and
off.
OFF: Opening and closing the LCD monitor does not turn the
camera on and off.

Setting the LCD monitor to the viewer position ( p.17) does not turn
the camera off.
You can make the camera even easier to use by combining this
function with [QUICK START] (
p.115) so that the camera starts up
more quickly.
