Notes on Erasing Data When You Transfer Rights or Dispose of Your
Camera
When you format a disk or delete data using the functions on the camera or
a PC, it only changes the file management information. The data on the
camera’s built-in hard disk drive or on an SD card is not completely erased
and could still be recovered using commercially available data recovery
software. This could cause problems if important data falls into the wrong
hands after you transfer rights or dispose of the camera or SD card.
To prevent this, it is recommended that you physically destroy the built-in
hard disk drive or SD card, or that you use commercially available data
erasing software to completely erase all data on the built-in hard disk drive
or SD card before you transfer rights or dispose of them.
Take care to manage data on the built-in hard disk drive and SD cards
responsibly.
