3: Program Settings
3.1 Settings Overview
Application settings can be accessed
through the toolbar button
or by
selecting Settings Info from the View menu
as shown below:
There are up to six tabs available in the
Program Settings window, two of which
require additional licensing.
General
Pen
ENC (requires S57 license/dongle)
Projection
Contact
Database (requires additional database license)
3.2 General Settings
Scratch Path: This is the directory
where temporary Perspective files are
kept. Select the button to the right of the
file path to change to a new scratch
location.
Optimize GeoTiffs: This will speed
up viewing large GeoTiffs by
indexing a copy of the file in the
scratch folder, than accessing it from
the scratch folder. This indexing
allows Perspective to only load part
of the GeoTiff when needed rather
than the whole GeoTiff file.
Number of Cores: This is where the
user tells Perspective how many (if any)
of the cores the host computer is utilizing. This helps to optimize Perspective processing.
