1-3 User Access Control

The XP Remote Web Console Java™ applet program provides five basic levels of user access:

superuser authority. The default storage administrator cannot be deleted, but the password can be

changed.

Storage Administrator with superuser authority. Storage administrators with superuser authority can

perform all administrative functions for the subsystem except editing the user account for the default storage

administrator. Superuser authority allows write access to all user functions.

Default storage administrators and storage administrators with Superuser authority have access to the

following functions:

Setting up storage logical partitions and assigning write access for certain functions to storage partition

administrators

Enabling and disabling options (see section 2-7

Setting the environmental parameters (see section 3-4 )

Downloading the log and configuration files (see section 3-5 )

Restoring backup files (see section 3-6 )

Downloading Trace Files (see section 3-8 )

Storage administrator with general user authority. Storage administrators without superuser authority have

administrator with superuser authority.

to their assigned storage logical partition. Storage partition administrators with superuser authority have

access to the following administrative functions within their storage partitions:

Adding and deleting users and assigning or modifying user access

Storage partition administrator with general user authority. Storage partition administrators with general

user authority have access to user functions only within their assigned storage partition. Write access to
