5 Configuration File Loader
5-1 Overview of Configuration File Loader
Configuration File Loader is used to make large-scale or “batch” changes to the LUN Manager configuration of
the XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array subsystem, using either a text editor or spreadsheet software to edit
configuration definition files (spreadsheet files) and apply the changes. You can apply the same configuration
definition file to different subsystems, and you can define the configuration when you are offline.
The instructions in this chapter assume the use of Microsoft Excel® 2000, and it is recommended for best
compatibility.
Currently Configuration File Loader supports only LUN Manager functions. Figure 5-1 shows a flow chart of
Configuration File Loader operations. The Configuration File Loader pane is not available to storage partition
administrators.
Log on to Storage Navigator.
Start Configuration File
Loader.
Export the current settings
spreadsheet.
Edit the spreadsheet.
Import the edited
spreadsheet.
Is any error found by the First
check or the Second check?.
Check the error on the error
message and the error list.
Apply the new settings.
Is any error found
by the Third check?
