Setup
Use this window to set the parameters for sending e-
mails from this Chatter™ Data Logger
See below for a detailed description of each part in this
pane.
Server for outgoing e-mail
When the Chatter™ Data Logger sends mail, it must send it via an external mail server. Normally this mail
server is a part of your mobile telephone package.
Contact your mobile telephone supplier for information on a usable SMTP relay server.
The modem built into the Chatter™ Data Logger does NOT support mail servers which requires
a secure logon.
Port for outgoing e-mail
Normally e-mails are sent via TCP/IP port 25.
Do not change this setting unless you are specifically told to do so
Sender e-mail address
Any mail sent must have a sender address. Ask your mobile telephone supplier which sender address you
may use.
You can combine the Chatter on-chip serial number with a mail domain to get distinct mail
addresses for more Chatter™ Data Logger

Character set used in e-mail
Normally the standard character set, ISO-8859-1, will be the one to use. If you need special accented
characters, you can change to another character set
