4 Secure the sensor cable to the plastic mounting plate.
5 Point the reference sensor directly at the comparator lamp. Consult the comparator manufacturer’s
information for specific mounting instructions.
CAUTION
Avoid mounting fiber-optic cables next to the lamp. High temperatures degrade fiber-
optic cable performance. Install the cable to receive cooling air from the lamp fan if
possible.
The optical inputs must be configured later in QC-300 Magnifications setup screen. Please refer to
Chapter 10: Setup for details regarding optical edge detector setup.
Connecting optional CNC outputs
The optional CNC joystick and amplifier outputs are connected at the CNC output connector on the rear
of the QC-300.
1 Verify that the QC-300 and CNC amplifier are off. Connect the CNC amplifier and joystick to the
26-pin D-sub connector on the rear of the QC-300.
2 Make sure the connector is fully inserted and make sure
the cable connectors are tight, but do not overtighten the con-
nector screws.
