Chapter 8. 3270 Bisync Interface
The 3270 Bisync interfaces should be configured after the ESCON interfaces are
configured and prior to configuration of the circuits.
Bisync interfaces are provided on the FEP-4600 through one or more QBA (Quad Bisync
Adapters). To support Bisync attached platforms on the FEP-4600, it will be necessary to
customize the configuration. Configuration for Bisync is conducted in two parts. The first
part is to configure the common Line Options used by all platforms communicating over
a particular line. The second part is to configure the Drop Options. Each platform
communicating over the line will have a separate set of Drop Options.
To configure the Bisync interface, select ‘Configure’ from the menu at the top of most
panels, to display the Configuration menu as shown below.
Select ‘Connectivity’ to display the Connectivity Configuration menu as shown below.
