Response Timer T1: The value for this timer is an indication of how long the FEP-4600
should wait for an LLC response to a frame before attempting a retry. Commonly used
values would be:
• 2 Seconds (Default) used for LAN connections
• 3 Seconds typically used for WAN connections over leased lines
• 10 Seconds suggested value for WAN connections over Frame Relay
Retry Count N2: The value for this option determines how many attempts will be made
to retry sending a frame at the LLC level, before declaring that an LLC timeout has
occurred. The default value for this option is 7.
Inactivity Timer TI: This option determines how long the FEP-4600 should wait to
attempt to test the interface when there is no activity. A typical value for this parameter is
30 seconds.
Button Definitions
Return: Pressing the Return button takes you back to the previous panel.
Update: Pressing the Update button will save the current values. If there is a value in
error, a message will display to the right of the buttons to alert you to the error situation,
and the values will not be saved.
Drops: Selecting the Drops button will display the Token Ring Drops panel to allow you
to edit the configurations of currently defined drops, and allow you to define new drops.
Unconfigure: Using this button allows you to delete the currently displayed
configuration.
