Ethernet Line Options
The Ethernet configuration for SNA traffic on the FEP-4600 is performed in two steps.
The first step is to configure the Ethernet Line Options, which define the way the
Ethernet interface will interact with the network to which it will be attached. The second
step is to configure the interface to each drop on the Ethernet that the FEP-4600 must
communicate with.
The Ethernet Line Configuration panel appears below.
Changes can be made to the options found on this panel, then press the Update button to
save the changes. Descriptions of the options found on the ‘Ethernet Line Options’ panel
are discussed below:
Field Definitions
Configure Ethernet Line - This option identifies which line you are about to configure.
If you find that you have selected the wrong line, you can select the correct Ethernet line
from the drop down control.
Line ID - This option allows you to apply a name to the Ethernet interface (valid
characters are alphanumeric plus underscore, dash, and period).
MAC Address – Changing the value for this parameter, causes the FEP-4600 to override
the burned in MAC address of the Ethernet interface installed, with the address that you
configure. Be careful not to configure duplicate MAC addresses on your network.
