Chapter 9. Clustering
Clustering Overview
The Clustering feature of the FEP-4600 allows multiple (up to 8) FEP-4600 platforms to
be interconnected through an IP connection, allowing them to be used as if they were a
single platform. Through clustering, upstream and downstream connections can be spread
across multiple platforms as needed.
Configuration Requirements for Clustering
You must have your FEP-4600 cluster defined, and all members of the cluster must be
powered on and communicating with each other prior to trying to define the static
gateway circuits. You may configure the static gateway circuits from any member of the
cluster.
Configuring the Clustering Feature
To create a Cluster, select ‘Configure’ from the menu at the top of most panels, to display
the Configuration menu as shown below.
Select ‘Clustering’ from the Configuration menu as shown. The resulting Clustering
menu will display.
