Field Definitions
Refer to the diagrams below to better understand what the Field Definitions represent.
ID: This column displays the name assigned to each of the subchannels by the
administrator. These names can be most any text character string that you choose to use
(use alphanumeric characters as well as dash, underscore, and period), and should be
selected to describe the interface uniquely. A default ID will be assigned, but you can
modify the ID to whatever you want.
Net ID: This option corresponds to the NETID used by the Adjacent VTAM that the
FEP-4600 is connected to through the ESCON interface. (Local NETID)
Subarea Number: This represents the subarea number used by the FEP-4600 as it
would appear from the ESCON channel side. Note that when this circuit is providing a
connection to another VTAM through an ESCON interface (Channel-to-Channel), the
subarea number should be that of the destination VTAM.
SSCP Name: This is the name that the FEP-4600 will identify itself to the ESCON
attached VTAM when establishing a connection.
