PUMP IS DISABLED

Possible Cause

Checks

Corrective Action

The terminal operator
manually disabled the pump.

Did someone disable the
pump through the terminal
using the DP command?

Find out why and correct
problem if necessary.

A fueling problem caused the
Series 1000 to automatically
disable the pump after a
specified number of
consecutive no quantity
transactions.

Examine the data terminal
printouts. Use the EP
command to enable the pump.
Authorize the pump.

Does the pump reset?

Does the pump dispense fuel?

Turn pump handle off. Is
quantity recorded in this
transaction?

If it does not reset, follow the
procedure outlined in
Pump/Dispenser Will Not
Reset or Run When
Authorized
.

If it does not dispense fuel,
follow the procedure outlined
in Pump/Dispenser Resets
But Doesn't Dispense Fuel
.

If quantity is not recorded,
follow the procedure outlined
in Pump Dispenses Fuel,
Pulses Not Being Counted
.

Pump timeouts are too short.

Enter the XP command on the
data terminal to examine the
assigned pump timeouts.

Use the LP command to
reload the pump timeouts if
they are too short.

Number of consecutive no
quantity transactions is set too
low

Enter the PS command on the
data terminal to examine the
assigned number of
consecutive no quantity
transactions before disabling
the pump.

Use the SC command to
reload the number of
consecutive no quantity
transactions if it is set too low.
