Replacing Restraint System Parts
After a Crash
A CAUTION:
A crash can damage the restraint syslems In
your vehtdB. A damaged resrr^lnt system may
not properly protect the person using
resulting in serious infury or even death in a
crash. To help make sure your restraint
systerns 3re working properly after a crash,
have them inspected and any necessary
replacements made as soon as possible.
If youVe had a crash, do you need new belts or LATCH
system parts?
After a very minor collision, nolhing may tie necessary.
But if the belts were stretched, as they would ba it
worn during a more severe crash, ihen you need
new pads.

the LATCH system was being used during a more
severe crash, you may need new LATCH system parts.
If belts are cut or damaged, noplace lham. Collision
damage also may mean you will need to have LATCH
syatem, safety beh, safely belt prelensioner or seaf parts
ropainod or replaced. New parts and repairs may be
necessary even it the hall or LATCH system wasn't
being used at Ihe lime of Ihe collision.
If art air bag inflates, you'll need to replace air bag
system parts. See Ihe pad on Ihe air bag system earlier
in ihis section.
