Using RDS
Your audio syistom BQuipped wilh a Radio Data
System (RDS), RDS features are available for use only
on FM stations thal broadcast RDS information.

* receive announcements concerning local and

* display messages from radio stations, and
" seek !o stations with traffic announcements.
This system relies upon receiving specific information
from these stations and only work when the
informatidn 1$ available. In гага casas, a radio station
may broadcasl inoojfect Information that wilt cause
fhe radio features to wori< improperly, ti this happens,
contact ihe radio station.
While you are tuned to an RDS station, the station
naiThe or the call letters will appear on the display instead
of the ireciuency. RDS stations may also provide the
lime of day, a program lyps (PTV) (or current
programming and the name of the program being
broadcast.
Finding a PTY Station
T q select and find a desired PTY perform the following:
1. Press the P-Tt'PE button. Р-ТУРЕ and the last
EQlected PTY will ho displayed on the screen
2 Select a category by turning the P-TYPE knob.
3. Once the desired category is displayed, press either
SEEK arrow to select ihe category and take you lo
the calegory's first station.
4. fl you want 10 go to another station within lhal
category and the category is displayed, prass
eilher SEEK arrow once. If the category is not
dispHayed, press oithor SEEK arrow iwioa to ds&play
the category and then to go lo another station.
5. If PTV times out and is no lor>ger on the display, go
back to Step 1.
If both P-TYPE and TRAP are on, the radio will search
lor stations with the selected PTY and traffic
annouhcemenls.
To UM the PTY interrupt feature, press ar>d hold the
P-TYPE button until you hear a beep on the PTY
you want to ir)terrupt Wiilh. Whert selected, an asleriok
witi appear beside that PTY on the display. You
may sefecl multiple interrupts li de&ired. When yog ars
lislening to a compact disc, the last selected RDS
station will interrgpt play if (hat selected program typo
format is broadcast.
