Loading Your Vehicle

The Cerlificationn'iie label is Eounb on Ttie rear edge of
the driver's door. The tebel shows the size oi your
original tiros and the inffation pressures needed to obtain
the gross weight capacity of your vehicle. This is
called Gross Vehicle Weight Rating [GVWF}, The
GVWR includes the weight of the vehicle, ell occupants,
fuel and cargo.
The Certsfication/Tire label also tells you the maKimum
werghls tar the Inont and rear axlas, called Cross
Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). To find out the actual loads
on your front and rear axles, you need to go to a
weigh station and weigh your vehicle. V

help you with this. Be sure to spread out your load
equally on both sides ol the centerline.
Mever exceed the GVWR for your vehicle, or the GAWR
for either ihe front or rear axle.
And, it you do nave a heavy load, you should spread

out.
A CAUTION:
Do nol load your vehicle any heavier than the
GVWR, or either the maximum Iront or rear
GAWR, tf you do, parts on your vehicle can
break, and it can change the way your vehicle
handles. These coufd cause you to lose
conirol and crash. Also, overloading can
shorten the life of your vehicle.
