developed by the United States Nalional Highway
Traffrc Saiety Administration, which grades tires by
treadwear, traction and temperalure performance. [This
applies only to vehicles sold in the United States.)

system does not apply to deep tread, wmter-typo

Uniform Tire Quality Grading
The headwear grade is a comparative rating based on
the wear rate of Ihe tire when lasted under controtted
condibons on a specified government test course.
For example, a tire graded 150 would wear one and
a half {1.5} bmas as well on the government course as
a tiro graded 100. The nelaliva performance of tires
depends upon the actuaf condilions of ihoir use.

Traction - AA, A. B, C
The traction grades, from highest io fpwesi, are AA, A,
0, and C. Those grades represeni the lire's abiiliity

condilions on specitieef govemmont Tesi surfaces at
asphalt and concrete. A trre marked C may have poor
iraclion performance. Warning: The traction grade
assigned lo this tire is based on siraighhahead braking
traction tests, and does not include acceleration,
cornering, hydroplaning, or peak traction charactergtics.
