are some rules to follow;
• The bumpers on your vehicle are not intended tof
hitches. Do not attach rental hitches or other
bumper-type hitches to them. Lise only a
frame-mountecl hitch that does пот attach To (he
bumper. Do not uso a ball hitch, because IT could
pull Ihe bumper loose.
• II you'll be pulling a trailer that, when loaded, will
weigh more than 4,000 Jbs (I 000 kg}, be sura to

Safety Chains
You should always attach chains between your vehicle
and your trailer. Cross the safety chains under Ihe
tongue of the irailei to help pravenl the tongue tram
contacting the road if it bacomes separaled Irom
the hilch, Instrucfions about safety chains may be
provided by the hitch manufacturer or by the Trailer
manufacturer. Follow the manufacturer’s
recomni^endation tor atlaching salely chains and do not
attach them to the bumper. Always leave }U5t enough
slack so you can turn with your rig. Never allow
safety chains ta drag on the ground.
