address it similar to '5550123' <[email protected]>. Replace the “5550123” with a real fax
number, and “[email protected]” with the POP3 mailbox you assigned in the previous steps.
You should receive an email back from the fax server stating that the fax was sent successfully.
If you receive an error that is clearly from NET SatisFAXtion (and not your mail server), that is OK
(for now), since this indicates the email configuration is working and the notification did make it
correctly back through the mail system to you.
2.9.3.2 Configuring the Email Gateway
The Email Gateway is configured through a wizard found in the Start menu under
Start Programs ⇨ ⇨ NET SatisFAXtion ⇨ Configure Email to Fax, and Configure Email Gateway.
It can be re­run at any time.

If you are installing the Email Gateway on a machine separate from the fax server, be sure to click the
“Test Connection” button to verify communication with the fax server.
