1620 Busy: A busy tone was detected. Error type: BUSY.
1621 No dial tone: By default, the modem will listen for dial tone before trying to place an outbound
call. The most common cause of this error is not having a working phone line plugged into this port. If
the phone lines do not provide dial tone, the modem must be configured to not detect dial tone before
dialing (see dial_progress_mode). Error type: NO_DIAL_TONE.
1622 Modem did not detect fax device on answering side: Call was not answered by a fax. Error
type: NO_ANSWER.
1623 Modem did not detect fax device on answering side: The driver received something other
than +FCON from the modem upon answering the line. Error type: NON_RETRYABLE.
1624 No answer: No response from modem during answer for receive. Error type: NON_RETRYABLE.
1625 Call hung up before fax was complete: The modem returned a NO CARRIER while sending.
Error type: RETRYABLE.
1624 No Answer, remote device did not respond to handshake: The call connected but the
remote device failed to respond to repeated attempts to handshake. The timer is 35 seconds. Error
type: NON_RETRYABLE.
1626 Modem aborted the fax: The modem returned an +FHNG:0 even though the fax was not
complete. Error type: RETRYABLE.

10785 Windows serial device name unknown: Cannot access the configured modem. Check that
no other application is using the modem.
10786 The serial device is in use by another program: Cannot access the configured modem.

4.1.6 27951–28027: IPFax Driver
27951 Bad open ring 0 / kernel mode driver: There is another instance of the IPFax driver already
loaded, or the Windows account attempting to load the driver does not have Administrative permissions.
27969 Send collided with receive: An outbound port was allocated just as the port began to receive
a call. Error type: BUSY.
27975 WsaSendTo error: The gateway address is not a valid IP address. Error type:
NON_RETRYABLE.
27976 SIP Invite sent 7 times with no response: The gateway did not respond to SIP Invite
requests. Check the configured gateway IP address, and any firewall in between. Error type:
RETRYABLE.
27977 Timeout waiting for invite final response: Call was not answered in the configured time
period. Error type: NO_ANSWER.
27978 Unknown SIP response code: Received nonstandard SIP code from media gateway. See
extended error code. Error type: RETRYABLE.
27979 Timeout waiting for reinvite to fax: The call connected, but the gateway failed to send a
reinvite for T.38 either because there were no fax tones detected on the remote side or because the
gateway does not support T.38. Error type: RETRYABLE.
27980 Timeout waiting for ACK of OK for reinvite to fax: Media gateway incompatibility or severe
network issues. Error type: RETRYABLE.
