2.6.3.4 Scenario: Seven Digit Local Dialing
In this scenario, the following transformations will occur:
●
User supplies 7 digits: Dials as supplied.
●
User supplies local area code + 7 digits: Area code is stripped, and the seven digits are dialed.
To implement this, open the Validation Editor and locate the rule (in the top pane) named “Example
trim area code from local numbers.”
Select that rule, then click the ‘Modify’ button to the right.
Next, remove the example “999292,” “99614,” and “999665” prefixes by selecting each one and
clicking the Remove button at the bottom.
Enter your local area code in the “Number” field below, and click the Add button.
Click Modify Rule. The window will close.
Now, 10 digit numbers supplied to the server will have the first 3 digits trimmed, if those 3 digits are
your local area code. You can test this by clicking the Validate button on the main Validation Editor
interface. Enter some example input numbers, and verify the OUTPUT: listed in the results window is
correct.
2.6.3.5 Scenario: Ten Digit Local Dialing
●
User supplies 7 digits: Adds local area code to the front.
