CSID Called Subscriber Identifier:
ECM Error Correction Mode: Allows the receiving fax machine to request retransmission of corrupt
parts of the fax image. Not all fax machines support ECM.
FoIP Fax over Internet Protocol:
G.711 μ­law: Audio compression algorithm designed for encoding human speech.
G.729: Audio compression algorithm designed for encoding human speech at low bit rates.
IP Internet Protocol: Standard protocol for most data networks.
JBIG Joint Bi­Level Image Experts Group: An advanced fax image compression algorithm. Many
