Close the front cover.
Caution
- Check if the MPT is closed when closing the front cover. If the front cover is closed with the
MPT open, it may cause malfunction.
Drum Cartridge Replacement
MFP displays [Replace Drum Ctg.] on the LCD to give a notice before the drum cartridge reaches
its life. You can print the menu setting page to check the status of the drum cartridge. (If you
change the drum cartridge before resetting the drum cartridge counter, the menu page may not
present the status of the drum cartridge correctly.) When [Replace Drum Ctg.] appears on the LCD
first time, you have to replace the drum cartridge immediately. After the drum cartridge reaches its
life, the device can operate for some time but print quality drops significantly.
If you use the MFP without replacing the drum cartridge despite [Replace Drum Ctg.] shown on the
LCD, red LED lamp will give a notice of the replacement by flickering on and off. Then, you will
experience the inconvenience during printing and the red LED lamp will keep flickering on and off
(You have to press any keys under the LCD to print. This is not a mechanical failure). If you
continue to use the MFP regardless of the continuous notification, the MFP will stop working and
show [Drum Ctg. Life End] on the LCD. At this moment, you have to replace the drum cartridge
immediately.
